Below are some photos of our STANDARD range of hammock shapes and sizes. Custom made hammocks can be made on request if the sizes below don't suit your requirements. I have included my iphone and an Artline permanent marker in most of these photos as a sizing comparison and have also listed the APROX dimensions below.
NOTE: Measurements are taken at widest and longest points and are aprox only.

Q&A
The dimension of the section of my catrun that I would like an outdoor hammock for is 2ft 9 and half. (length), and 1ft 6 (width). (This is the actual length of the section- not allowing for the hooks). Can you please advise to weather this is the best type of hammock given the dimensions to supply?
Please note that the hammocks are a flexible fabric and depending on the dip that you want/choose to put in the fabric and your hanging points and providing you have 4 hanging points of similar dimensions to the hammock sizes they really will fit just about any space.
Remember if you have a space with hanging points that is roughly 2ft long x 1ft 2 inches wide and you choose a Medium rectangle outdoor hammock for example (dimensions 2 ft x 1ft 2 inches) by the time you add the hooks onto the hammock you will find that you have a nice dip in the hammock as designed.
Please remember that you DON'T want the hammock to be pulled tight like a shelf. You should move and place the hooks in such a way that the fabric has a dip in it. This will also mean that the hammocks will fit into a range of spaces. Providing the hammock will reach your hanging points and allow for a dip in the fabric that is the main thing! Obviously you don't want it to dip too much but our small hammocks will usually fit into the tighter spaces.
I can custom make one for you but I really think you will find that the standard one will fit just fine. If you wish to purchase this hammock and one set of hooks you are looking at $8.00 express post.
The large DRAYLON RECTANGLE OUTDOOR hammock with hooks attached is aprox 2ft 8in x 2ft so it may be slightly short length ways and this would be with the hammock pulled quite firm as I took the measurement with the hammock laying on a flat surface. Ideally you would want some flexibility so that it is actually a hammock rather than a sort of fabric shelf so with this in mind you have a few options....
1. We can custom make a hammock that is about 2ft 9" long x about 1ft 5 wide so that when you add the hooks on you have a nice hammock with a bit of a dip in it.
2. You could just use an extra set of hooks clipped together.
3. You could pick up some carabinas (metal "D" shaped things often used in abseiling or similar hooks that have a lever hinge part in the middle) that you could feed through the wire on your cattery and then clamp closed so they don't come unhooked. You can then just clip the hooks we sell onto these which would give you more than enough flexibility and you can choose to use 4 clams or maybe only two depending on how flat you want the hammock to be.
I have 2 cats what size hammock do I need?
Below is a picture of two of our young adult Burmese in a square hammock together and they have plenty of room. It depends on the breed of your cats and their size.
As Burmese are a small breed of cat a square hammock could be and usually is fine. If both your cats are aprox 4kgs or bigger a rectangle hammock is recommended.
Cats do like to stretch out (see second photo below) & curl up so if you want to give your feline friends the option to do both I would recommend a rectangle hammock as they can stretch out longways and you can still fit two cats in the one.
How should the hammock hang in my enclosure and what will it look like?
The photo below shows a LARGE RECTANGLE DRAYLON TAUPE HAMMOCK.
This hamock with hooks attached is aprox 2ft 8in x 2ft when lying flat so this would be mean it would be pulled quite firm if hung in a cage or enclosure at these measurments.
The photo shows this same hammock if hung (as designed) to give a dip in the fabric at the aprox dimensions of 2 ft long and 1 ft 4 inches wide from hook to hook.
NOTE: The width (1ft 4 inches) of the hammock is closest to the camera and I have in this example hung the hammock a little narrower at the back than at the front to show that a couple of inches either way will be fine.
What size hammocks fit into what size spaces? I only have 2 smallish cats!

If you are not going to use hooks and your space is already close to the dimensions of the hammock listed then you would be better off probably choosing the hammock that is the next size up so that you get the desired dip!

The hammock obviously should be in a position that is accessible for the cat. Up high so the cat can survey his kingdom and in a warm possibly sunny spot is ideal. A young to adult, fit, healthy cat can jump but you can do some little shelves screwed to the wall or home made timber ladders to make the hammock more accessible and inviting.

If the pole/bars etc that you intend to hang your hammock from are thick you can always just wrap a bit of cord, rope or a zip-tie around the pole and clip the clips onto that. As long as it is strong enough to support the weight of the cat/s and the hammock itself. This can also be done in a way that means you can adjust the height of the hammock from the ground and it means you can hang a standard size hammocks from bigger distances.... see photo below: There are some issues with this example but it should give you an idea of what I am saying. Firstly I wouldn't recommend the use of Ribbon to hang your hammock. Stong cord or rope would obviously be more appropriate. Secondly if hanging from trees we recommend where possible hanging from thicker branches than the flimsy tree on the left of the photo and hanging from the fork of the tree is ideal so that the rope doesn slip and for extra support. You can make the rope longer or shorter to suit the required distance and your specific situation.
